Thessaloniki is the second largest city in Greece, known for its rich history, vibrant culture and lively coastline. Founded in 315 BC, it played an important role in the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras. Highlights include the White Tower, the Rotunda and numerous Byzantine churches (UNESCO World Heritage Sites). Thessaloniki is also known for its vibrant nightlife, diverse cuisine and as the gateway to Northern Greece.
